How to lay slate chippings
The first step will depend on what you are using the slate for, such as a path, water feature or driveway.
Laying the slate chippings is as easy as placing them where you want them to go. It’s always a good idea to use a weed membrane fabric underneath to prevent weeds from growing throught the slate.
How much slate chippings do I need?

Are slate chippings suitable for driveway?
Slate chippings are not the ideal material to use on driveways, due to their shape and sharp edges that could damage your car tyres.
Do slate chippings stop weeds?
Although chippings will help to reduce weeds, they will not completely stop them from growing through. The solution is to use a weed membrane fabric that is placed underneath the slate chippings.
Can you walk on slate chippings?
Larger slate chippings are quit flat and bind tother well which creates a flat surface ideal for walking on.
